I do bottom regularly with a rigger, and we're working toward doing a full suspension. The challenge is that I weigh 200 pounds. I've seen heavier people with some sort of padding between the ropes and their skin, to minimize discomfort and evenly distribute the weight, but I don't know what that material was made of.
What might you-all suggest?

Re: padding for suspension?
Thu, September 6, 2007 - 7:44 PMUse wide strapping rather than rope. A lot of climbers harnesses are made with that.

Fri, September 7, 2007 - 12:42 PMI'd suggest more rope.
I've suspended numerous people in the 180-220 lb range (including myself) with just rope. -

Re: padding for suspension?
Mon, September 10, 2007 - 9:28 PMTribe doesn't even acknowlege the existence of
advancedropebondage.tribe.net
let alone any photo. Anyway depending on what position you are aiming for I would put most of your load on a hip harness and/or thigh wraps. The most common problem I've had with bottoms > 200lb is to much weight though a chest harness causing breathing problems. -

Re: padding for suspension?
Tue, September 11, 2007 - 9:30 AMThanks everyone for the suggestions. We did a full suspension on Saturday night, and everything went great. She used a hip wrap in addition to the chest wrap, and I didn't have any unexpected discomfort. Whoopie!

Re: padding for suspension?
Tue, September 11, 2007 - 8:46 PMOK I see the pic - it would be nice to have a rear view though. It
looks very 2KB with the box knot and double coin knots. If there is
an advanced rope bondage tribe I would like an invite.
