Re: neck corset pattern
Mon, August 14, 2006 - 12:22 AMNecks sure are interesting shapes!
1. Because of the variance in shapes-I wouldnt use a pattern to begin with. You can draft your own by covering your beloved's neck in duct tape (usually with a layer of fabric underneath so the duct tape doesn't stick but, hey) and slowly carefully cutting it off in one clean vertical line. From there, devide it in half, and then in fourths, and you can see what curves where. Devide your fabric as such-adding space for lacing and seam allowances. That meathod sounds a little complicated at the first glance, but its really not-if your interested and still habe questions, write me.
2. A corset without much pressure capacity can be made with a grommet kit, and a tube of fabric. Doubling over, and grommting two vertical strips of the fabric-that can then be laced together. That meathod leaves the potentially scratchy grommets away from the skin, as the frabic is just folded over on itself, and then laced up.
Does that ansxwer your question? -

Re: neck corset pattern
Tue, October 2, 2007 - 2:13 PMyou use the duct tape as a pattern for the shape of your neck
www.taunton.com/threads/pa...0002_p2.asp
then you cut the form off your neck down the back
that will give you the right shape
then cut it into pieces where you want the stays to be so you will have 4 or 6 of them
www.angelfire.com/alt2/tori...ck_corset/
that is your pattern.
lay out your pattern onto cloth add some extra room around pattern for seams and to fold over stays
www.marariley.net/stays/sta...ctions.htm
then sew
lace and have fun
hope this helps
