Stainless Steel work with cuffs and collars

topic posted Wed, July 18, 2007 - 7:55 PM by  Gabriel
Greetings All,
I was wondering if anyone has combined stainless steel banding into their leather cuffs and collars. I have built several sets of ankle and wrist restraints, but I always liked the look of Stainless wrapped around the black latigo. I was wondering if any of you have incorporated the two in your projects. If you have I have a few questions.

1. Where did you find the material?
2. How hard was it to work with? Tips/Tricks?
3. Looking back on it now; was it worth the effort?

Thanks.

Yours in Service,
Gabriel

if have and found it to be fun to make and play with
i started with metal fashing sold in roles it's cheep and you can learn with it
after i made up some ideas i wanted to use some heaver stainless steel so i took my proto type made of the sheet steel to a sheet metal shop
and had them cut and punch the metal bands out for me
they have tools and more skills then i have
most shops are cheaper then you think and will do a incredibly precise job
you can buy uncut sheets of any kind of metals and do it our self as well
i suggest you buy a set of metal hole punches and a staright bladed metal cutters i have found it easer then the left right center kind for smaller pieces it makes the work a lot easer
    hope this helps
