I had been looking into building a bench for some time and had seen on I liked but their price tag gave me sticker shock. So for about $100 in foam pad and very nice, easy to clean vinyl, and the scrap wood and hardware I had already, I have a sturdy, comfortable, easy to use, bench.

Re: Bench Ideas
Wed, January 2, 2008 - 5:23 PMBe careful, lest you start thinking of ways your next bench could be even better, then several paychecks worth of tools, and fancy expensive wood, and of course you'll want to try one with leather. Next thing you know, you've got people asking you to make stuff for them too. At least, that's how it went for me with floggers. -

Thu, January 3, 2008 - 10:16 PMAlready have the tools so that isn't a problem. I thought about leather. More than $200 for a good skin large enough to cover that much area.
I know about the flogger thign and how it can grow. BTDT.
