Can anyone tell me what exactly each item is used for and what the effects are? I know nothing about them and frankly am scared of them. Education tends to release fear, so if anyone can help me, that would be awesome.

I can't answer as to specific effects, but generally speaking, they're used to get high (and some may have additional psychedelic effects). Abuse or frequent exposure could lead to brain or lung damage.
Why? Are you anticipating that someone is going to expose you to these or thinking of ordering them to try out? There may be some tribes which would have more answers about the specific ones. -

I've just never understood why anyone would inhale anything, especially anything advertised as "video head cleaner". I have trouble understanding why people make conscious decisions to use or abuse any drug that can be overly detrimental to one's health, so I just wanted to try to understand the appeal.
I found one webpage that had quite a bit of information about "poppers". They are banned in the US since 1991.
Thank you for replying. :)

Mama G,
inhalants are usually called "Poppers", and there's a good definition at Wikipedia
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poppers
The two things to note: It's supposed to give you a rush, and it's supposed to relax the smooth muscle tissure, including the sphincter. Having tried them once or twice, all I discovered is that they smell yucky, and give me a headache.
Nitrous Oxide is also an inhalant, sometimes called "whippits" or "hippie crack" and is a dissociative. I've found that it behaves very differently from "Poppers". While I've enjoyed whippits alone and during sex, I'd say know thyself when it comes to any chemical (including food) that you take in. moderation and research are two tools to wield when it comes to drug use of any sort, IMHO.
That said, if I'm doing a scene, or even just making out or having vanilla sex, I prefer to mostly keep my wits together. Not too drunk, not too stoned, etc. I like to be there, and be there with my partners so that we can make healthy decisions together.

I am absolutely with you on the last part about being aware. I remember going to a Dead concerts and saw a lot of balloons around. Haven't done Nitrous either.
Being totally within oneself is the best gift you can give another when being intimate (or intense) with them, in my opinion. :)
Thanks Milo. -

Also, it should be noted that using these with Viagra and the like, is very dangerous, using these when high on speed or crack is dangerous, using all three (which is still quite popular in certain cirles) can kill you or send you to the ER. Oh, and using speed and Viagra is bad, too. Speed/crack and viagra are hard on the heart, poppers make it hard for the heart to bring oxygen to the brain. Oh, and if you're on HIV meds to boot, oive!
I know this because, um, I once worked in outreach to a community where, when folks decided to relapse, they did so with flair.

Poppers or "aromas" or leather cleaner or video head cleaner are the same. They just aren't sold as poppers as poppers are illegal, why I have no clue. They are made with various mixes of amyl nitrate. They are largely used by gay men during fisting to help relax and stretch the sphincter. They also provide a brief temporary head rush similiar to a whip-it. Of the brands Hellfire which is only available locally for the most part is the strongest and best IMO. Iron Horse Platinum is very very popular, as are the Taiwan Blue bottles without labels, and regular Iron Horse.
Again do not mix with blood pressure meds, and VIAGRA, other penis pill, or any other vaso-dilator.
Any other questions shoot me a message.
