My girlfriend wants me to put in a thumbwheel variable-speed control rather than just the normal two speeds, because sometimes low is too low and high is too high. I think a pulsing or wave mode might be nice too, and perhaps the "infur-o-tron" mode!

I was also thinking of trimming the handle a bit, maybe 3", since it's impossible to hit the right spot without hitting the bed in some positions. This will leave about 1" x 2" of empty space in the handle, more than enough room for a little circuit board.

Has anyone out there modified or just purchased a modified magical hitachi wand? I've seen external speed controllers sold for use with them, but nothing about physically modifying them to replace the switch with a thumb wheel. Or any other ideas to make the best vibrator even better?
