Vegan Cuffs

I made these out of recycled bike tubes and mouse pads. Getting the snaps through the neoprene was a pain in the ass, but for a prototype, I'm pretty happy with the result. These fit around my ankle. The next pair is going to be a little smaller so that they'll work better for wrists, too.

I like the look of these; good job. (How did you do the snaps/neoprene?)

Although it isn't quite as stylish, strips of carpeting is also a good leather substitute, for those on a budget, or otherwise averse to using leather. Carpet backing is strong, and slits (to attach straps, etc) can hide in the pile.
